Bhutan Climate Platform

A knowledge base for climate change initatives in Bhutan.

About

Bhutan Climate Platform is a ‘one stop platform’ for all climate efforts in Bhutan. This platform is envisaged to fulfil three primary functions: coordination; knowledge management and communication; and reporting and monitoring functions vis-à-vis climate adaptation, mitigation, and transparency on reporting obligations.

Planning for climate change mitigation and adaptation is not a one-off event. This process and actual actions on the ground must rely on a wealth of climate information, vulnerability analyses and mapping, changing emission scenarios, and keeping track of how changing economic, demographic, environmental and other conditions impact climate. Climate change data would aid proper planning, decision making and resource sharing.

The platform basically focuses on adaptation and mitigation and has been designed to facilitate open knowledge exchange, information transparency, and improved coordination efforts between different actors. The platform has been developed as a part of the NAP Readiness and hosted by National Environment Commission Secretariat (NECS).
